The Right Technical Interpretation Equipment for Every Situation

Some methods of interpreting require technical equipment. The specific setting of your event is decisive for determining which interpreting system is most appropriate. If you wish, we can advise you on the equipment best suited to your event.

Valise (or portable interpreting system):

The interpreter sits where he/she can hear the speaker’s voice clearly, listens to the speech directly (no headset) and interprets into a microphone. The audience members hear the interpreter via their headsets. This system may be useful for smaller settings and short meetings.

Infrared interpretation system (with IR emitters and receivers):

The interpreter listens to the speaker via a headset and interprets into a microphone. The audience hears the interpreter via their headsets. This system requires that each speaker has a microphone (fixed or wireless).

Tabletop booth:

An upgrade of the IR interpretation system, where a small, portable tabletop booth reduces outside noise for the interpreter.

ISO standard booth:

Standard interpretation booths are used, when simultaneous interpretation into more than one language is required. The interpreters sit in a fully-enclosed booth and interpret what is being said in real-time. Each language is broadcast on a separate channel. A dedicated technician will remain on site to monitor audio quality and to provide for all technical aspects of the conference.
